We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Laboratory Floor Coordinator to join the Scientific Facilities team in the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute.
CSCI is a world-leading centre for stem cell research based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
We are a friendly team who provide support and assistance to researchers and ensure the smooth running of CSCI laboratories.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working cooperatively, likes helping others and has good organisational skills.
You will be responsible for communal laboratory areas and core equipment, and will liaise with research groups to organise any servicing which may impact their work.
You will also contribute to health and safety management, providing inductions and training to researchers, writing risk assessments and ensuring safety procedures are observed.
You will be a key point of contact for staff, students and visitors so excellent communication skills are essential.
You must also be able to work independently, prioritising tasks and managing your own time.
You will ideally be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a science subject.
At least a year''s practical experience supporting a research laboratory environment and looking after a range of lab equipment is essential, along with awareness of health and safety.
This is a full-time role for 36.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. The role will be based fully on-site.
