About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic HR leader to join the University of Cambridge as Head of HR Policy.

This is a senior role responsible for leading the development and delivery of the University’s HR policy framework, alongside key strategic projects and cultural change programmes.

  • Providing expert advice on complex policy, change and employment matters
  • Leading engagement and negotiation with trade unions
  • Overseeing strategic HR projects and programmes
  • Using data and insight to inform policy and decision‑making
  • Leading and developing a high‑performing HR Policy team
  • We are looking for someone who has
  • Significant senior level HR experience in a complex, unionised organisation
  • Strong track record of developing and implementing HR policy and strategic initiatives
  • Experience leading cultural change and influencing at senior level
  • Excellent relationship‑building, communication and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of employment law and industrial relations
  • Experience managing and developing teams
