The Exam Operations and Mitigating Circumstances Team sit within the Student Administration section of Education Services, supporting the academic purposes of the University. We provide expert administrative support and advice to the University and Colleges relating to the operational delivery of exams and reasonable adjustments for undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses. We also manage the administration of mitigating circumstances and allowances for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students.

The Exam Operations and Mitigating Circumstances Team are looking to recruit a conscientious team player who will contribute to our continuing success. This role plays a key part in delivering a high quality, efficient and coordinated examination and assessment service that adapts to support the University's commitment to diversification of assessment. The role is based in the Mitigating Circumstances Team, which focuses on delivering support for students who require reasonable adjustments in their assessments. This includes Adjusted Modes of Assessment (AMA), as well as supporting the work of the Examination Access and Mitigation Committee (EAMC) who consider applications for allowances and intermission.

While this role is based in the Mitigating Circumstances Team, there may be times where the role holder is required to work within the Exam Operations Team. The work involved in this role will be varied. Key responsibilities are included in the further particulars document.

Given the demands of the examination cycle, the role requires a flexible approach to working patterns and the ability to adjust priorities when needed. Whilst the Exam Team is supportive of hybrid working, there are periods of time where in office working is non‑negotiable. The role holder will be office based during their initial 6‑month probation period and for the exam round from April‑June. During this time there will also be some Saturday, evening and Bank Holiday working, where the role holder will be paid overtime at the commensurate rate.

The Exam Team forms part of the Student Administration Service within Education Services and exceptionally, you may be required to work on other tasks within Education Services if there is a change in priorities. Further information on the role can be found in the Further Particulars document.
