Salary

£36,513 to £41,565 per annum inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468 per annum inclusive of London allowance.

Funding

Funding is currently available to support this position for 3 years, in the first instance.

Overview

LSE's Centre for Economic Performance, one of Europe's leading economic research centres, seeks a well organised office administrator to assist the directors and centre manager.

As part of a small, friendly administrative team you will ensure the smooth operation of the Centre and other related centres.

You will be the first point of contact, responding to internal and external queries, and you will provide high level administrative support to the CEP senior management team while supporting a wide range of programmes and processes on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to CEP senior management and centre directors.
  • Respond to internal and external queries in person and online.
  • Manage competing priorities and tasks using initiative.
  • Maintain and update office systems, files and records.
  • Coordinate meetings, travel and events.
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail under pressure or to deadlines.
  • Assist in supporting a wide range of programmes and processes daily.

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with senior academic colleagues and across the organisation.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills and strong IT competence.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong teamwork and proactive problem recognition and escalation.
