Established in 1977, Technical Transport Products is a family run business that has progressed to become a leader within the Northern Ireland field of transport temperature control as Thermo King official dealer. Based in Ballymena, our aim is to ensure that all our customers receive the highest level of support where and when they need it. As a small private company, a team ethos is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to providing opportunities for skill and career development for our staff.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will join our team of Transport Refrigeration Engineers to help meet the needs of our customers both on and off-site. The role duties include:
- The installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of transport refrigeration units.
- Undertaking professional training within the Thermo King network and self-development through the Certi-tech certification process.
- Liaising with our Ballymena hub regarding job start and completion times, downtime and overtime authorisations.
- Completing all relevant paperwork and keeping the Service Department informed.
- Performing other duties and projects which correspond to the general character of the position.
- Ensuring adherence to company procedures in line with our Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Apprentices and/or engineers during training may be supervised where applicable.
- Ensuring relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van daily.
Essential Criteria
- Proven ability within the service maintenance and breakdown sector or have previous experience in auto or commercial electrics and willing to re-train.
- A minimum of three GCSEs attained at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths, Science and English Language.
- Be computer literate.
- Ensure customer service is a priority.
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have a flexible attitude towards working practices.
- Be in possession of a clean current driving license.
Additional information
The hours of work are 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 8:30am - 4:00pm on Fridays. Beyond these core hours, the successful applicant must be flexible as a call-out rota is in operation amongst the Refrigeration Engineer Team.
