Established in 1977, Technical Transport Products is a family run business that has progressed to become a leader within the Northern Ireland field of transport temperature control as Thermo King official dealer. Based in Ballymena, our aim is to ensure that all our customers receive the highest level of support where and when they need it. The Role

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will join our team of Transport Refrigeration Engineers to help meet the needs of our customers both on and off-site. The role duties include:

  • Completion of jobs from general servicing to fault finding, working on electrics and carrying out strips and rebuilds
  • Ensuring repairs are carried out according to manufacturers procedures in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with Standard Times using special tools where appropriate
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process
  • Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and with warranty material on completion of a repair
  • Work with the parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted to vehicles
  • Road test vehicles if required (if holder of an HGV licence)
  • Assist with Roadside breakdowns (if required to do so)
  • Ensure all vehicle defects are reported to Workshop Supervisor
  • Ensure service sheets are completed as per Company instructions
  • Ensure Company time recording processes are complied with and job cards are completed accurately
  • Ensure that workshop facilities, equipment and tools are kept clean, tidy and maintained
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment when appropriate
  • Support the development of apprentices and trainees when required

  • A flexible and positive attitude to the job - duties can sometimes change at short notice
  • The ability to work without supervision
  • A polite and friendly manner while at delivery and collection destinations
  • Good communication skills - can always communicate both internally and externally in a coherent and professional manner
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and flexible with regards to working hours
  • Excellent Punctuality

Additional information

The hours of work are 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 8:30am - 4:00pm on Fridays. Technical Transport Products reserve the right to enhance the above criteria in the event of an unprecedented response. Technical Transport Products are an Equal Opportunities Employer.
