Fire and Security Small Works Engineer

Role: Fire and Security Small Works Engineer\\n\\nLocation: Birmingham\\n\\nSalary: £29,000 – £35,000 per annum\\n\\nTechnical Resources are seeking a Fire and Security Small Works Engineer in Birmingham to carry out small works across multiple site locations. This key role requires someone who is committed to delivering high-quality installations, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company health and safety policies.\\n\\nResponsibilities:\\n\\n * Installation, testing, and commissioning of small works on Intruder Alarm Systems (wired and wireless), CCTV Surveillance Systems, Access Control, and Fire Systems.\\n\\n * Work according to electrical layouts and building plans, following NSI, industry standards, and relevant Codes of Practice/Policies.\\n\\n * Provide methodical and efficient quality installations, including digesting detailed scope of works and working drawings.\\n\\n * Attend site meetings when required and liaise with customers and external agencies such as Alarm Receiving Centres and Manufacturer Technical Support.\\n\\n * Produce high-quality commissioning and handover documentation and as-fitted drawings.\\n\\n * Ensure a safe work environment, adhering to Method and Risk Assessments, and safe working procedures.\\n\\n * Provide client training and demonstrate systems, explaining working functionality.\\n\\n * Participate in the emergency call-out rota (optional for small works engineers).\\n\\n * Maintain your vehicle and stock levels to ensure client demands are met.\\n\\nExperience and Certifications Required:\\n\\n * Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level (minimum).\\n\\n * Electrically aware and capable of working with various electronic systems and mechanical equipment.\\n\\n * Ability to install and commission a wide range of systems, including CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRS, Intruder alarms, and fire alarm systems.\\n\\n * Fire BS5839 standards Parts 1 & 5 (ideal).\\n\\n * Able to work efficiently independently or as part of a team.\\n\\n * Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).\\n\\n * Willing to travel to various sites as required.\\n\\n * Travel will be required to fulfil the role.\\n\\n * Call out is 1 in 8 but is optional for small works engineers.\\n\\nPlease apply with an up-to-date CV for more information.\\n\\nWe can only accept applications from candidates who are based in the UK
