Assembly Technician required for electro-mechanical product manufacturing company based in Folkestone, Kent. Established in 1926, this small but globally reaching business designs and manufactures innovative high quality testing equipment for industry (construction, marine, power, oil & gas etc).

This is a great opportunity to become a key member of the small friendly Manufacturing Team, offering a competitive salary, company bonus structure, 39 hours per week (early finish Fridays!), free parking, tea & coffee and the opportunity to develop a career with this highly successful business.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, good general dexterity and practical aptitude to ensure the provision of products worthy of this company’s high reputation. This is a key production role in the assembly department. Operatives work as a team to assemble mechanical and electrical components according to the specifications provided, checking their own work.

Responsibilities, Goals & Objectives
  • Assembly work.
  • Read and follow technical drawings.
  • Follow work instructions to produce assemblies correct to drawing and specifications.
  • Support the quality system with improvement suggestions.
  • Timely reporting of non-conformance to support the quality system.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe working environment at all times.
  • Once trained, carry out specialist assembly activities tailored to products.
Person Requirements
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Proactive and willing to learn.
  • Numeracy, attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy.
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent Level 2 Qualifications.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Advantageous Attributes
  • Other qualifications at or above GCSE level, e.g. Engineering Technician.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of basic circuits.
  • Ability to solder.
  • Evidence of working towards any of the above.
