ESOL Learning Support Tutor required in Chatham, Kent - permanent part time 4.5 hours per week.

Play a key role in our learning support team as an ESOL specialist. MKC Training is looking for a part time ESOL Specialist tutor who is passionate about delivering high-quality support for adult learners and colleagues. They are a growing business, and this role will integrate within a six-strong team of Learning Support Specialists to provide learner-focused, flexible and contextualised support for adult learners on programmes from level 2 to level 7.

Flexible working arrangements: We expect the post holder to work onsite during initial onboarding, then a hybrid work pattern will be available with remote ESOL support sessions and on-site support (based on learner needs, normally Tuesday and Wednesdays).

The Role:

Within this role, your work could involve:

  • Providing language support to students on trade courses, students on high level technical courses and staff who do not have English as a first language.
  • Setting SMART targets, monitor progress and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILP).
  • Developing contextualised resources relevant to soldiers, students and staff needs.
  • Maintaining CPD and attend relevant training.
  • Participating in and supporting quality assurance processes.
  • Promoting the use of relevant e-learning and e-assessment tools.

Additional experience / capability to support your application:

  • A recognised specialist ESOL Teaching Qualification (Level 5+)
  • Experience of teaching ESOL to adults whose first language is not English
  • Proficient use of Zoom, Teams and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience of supporting adults in a technical, trade, work or FE environment
  • Experience of producing resources relevant to the needs of students and staff
  • A flexible approach to work with colleagues at a range of levels and be adaptable to learner and programme area requirements
