Excellent opportunity for an experienced MIG Welder with Aluminium experience to join a leading defence manufacturer in Stockport, working on the assembly of complex military engineering systems.
This is a hands-on welding position within a modern manufacturing environment, offering great career prospects and working conditions, where you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded assemblies in line with engineering drawings, welding specifications and required quality standards.
Pay & Benefits
- £19.97 per hour + overtime
- Monday to Thursday: (Apply online only). Friday: (Apply online only)
- Attractive pension - 4% employee contribution and 7% employer contribution
- Half-day Friday
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

As a Welder, you will:
- MIG weld aluminium components and assemblies to required standards
- Work from engineering drawings, work instructions and welding specifications
- Prepare, weld, dress and finish components
- Inspect completed welds for quality and dimensional accuracy
- Identify and correct welding defects
- Use hand and powered tools safely
- Complete relevant production and quality documentation
- Work safely and efficiently to production schedules
Candidate Requirements:
- Aluminium MIG welding experience within manufacturing or fabrication
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Good understanding of welding processes and quality standards
- Ability to identify and correct welding defects
- Relevant welding qualifications / certifications advantageous
- Heavy engineering or defence experience beneficial
