An excellent opportunity for a Production Planner to join a successful manufacturing business in Stockport. Due to business growth, this is an outstanding opportunity to join part of a global business operating in the defence industry, building and supplying Military equipment to the British Army. This role is ideal for a Production Planner with 2+ years' manufacturing experience, and strong SAP knowledge who enjoys working closely with production, materials and supply chain teams to ensure products are delivered on time and production schedules run efficiently.

As Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating and managing daily and weekly production schedules, ensuring materials, labour and machine capacity are aligned to customer demand. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in maintaining schedule adherence, supporting production teams and driving continuous improvement across planning processes. Up to £36K + great career prospects and benefits to include:

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage daily and weekly production schedules
  • Monitor production progress and adjust plans where required
  • Use SAP to manage production orders, Bills of Materials (BoMs) and routings
  • Release production orders in line with material availability and delivery requirements
  • Work closely with Production, Materials Planning and Supply Chain teams
  • Manage rework orders and ensure accurate production reporting
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock levels for production requirements
  • Support warehouse and logistics teams to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Track and report production KPIs, including schedule adherence and on-time delivery
  • Identify production risks and escalate issues before they impact customer deliveries
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and planning process development

About You

  • Minimum 2 years' Production Planning experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong SAP ERP experience, including BoMs, routings and production orders
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production scheduling
  • Experience working closely with production and supply chain teams
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
