HGV Mechanics / Mechanical Fitter Technicians / Electrical Fitters required in Stockport. Due to business growth, this is an outstanding opportunity to join part of a global business operating in the defence industry, building and supplying Military Vehicles to the British Army.
Working within a team of technicians responsible for the assembly process of the Boxer, working in line with the company’s procedures to specific Health and Safety guidelines. The role is currently a day shift; however, production demand may require the flexibility of the post holder to work alternative shift patterns.
£38,400 + overtime, great career prospects and benefits to include:

- Holidays: 25 days (rising to 28 with service) plus 8 Bank Holidays

Experience to support your Mechanic / Fitter application:
- Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Mechanical or Electrical Fitter
- HGV Mechanic Certification City and Guilds / NVQ or relevant Electrical Qualification
- Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (desirable)
- Vehicle assembly or maintenance experience
- Understanding of technical documents
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of production processes and procedures
- Understanding of quality, safety, and environmental systems and processes
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations
Mechanic / Fitter main responsibilities:
- Final assembly of armoured vehicles and sub-assemblies
- Fault-finding, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs
- Interpret technical drawings and operating instructions
- Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, and software-related issues
- Use diagnostic systems and update work records in SAP
- Complete tasks to deadlines and maintain housekeeping standards
- Order required parts and equipment
- Support training and knowledge sharing across teams
- Collaborate with other departments as required
- Attend additional training, including occasional overseas travel when needed
