Location: Runcorn + travelling to client sites required by project demand

Salary: Open to discussion (hourly paid). Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate for all hours worked over 40 per week up to 50 hours per week.

Hours: 7am - 4pm / 7:30am - 4:30pm. 38-40 hours per week plus overtime

Job Overview: As a Lead Electrical Technician you will have a strong background in electrical installations within industrial and commercial environments, with experience on UK chemical and petrochemical sites desirable. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate effective site management, commercial awareness, and the ability to deliver electrical installation projects through the full lifecycle, from site establishment and construction management to inspection, testing, and final client handover. This role does require you to work away from home due to project demand. Working away will not be every week or month but flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review engineering and installation packs from the Project Engineer or Site Services Manager
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of on-site and off-site (workshop) activities
  • Manage site establishment, construction activities, testing, inspection, commissioning, and project close-out
  • Supervise and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors
  • Maintain a balance of approximately 60% working / 40% supervisory duties, where practical
  • Ensure all personnel work safely and in compliance with client, and statutory requirements
  • Coordinate with other trades, site management teams, and clients
  • Ensure materials, plant, access equipment, welfare, and tooling are available, compliant, and fit for purpose
  • Arrange and ensure completion of site inductions for all HTS personnel
  • Monitor installation progress against programme and budget
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control
  • Attend construction and progress meetings as required
  • Capture, record, and communicate variations and delays to management
  • Mark up red-line drawings and ensure accurate as-built documentation
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Engineer regarding progress and site issues
  • Ensure all inspection and testing is carried out in accordance with NICEIC and qualifying supervisor requirements

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • C&G 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification
  • Compex 01-04
  • Valid Site Safety Passport (Supervisor or Operative level)
