About the Role

We are working with our client, a specialist contractor within the façades and building envelope sector, who are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing the commercial performance of cladding projects ranging up to £10m. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, ensuring robust cost control, accurate reporting, and effective management of subcontractor accounts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience within cladding, façades, or building envelope packages, and a solid understanding of main contractor environments and commercial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial aspects of cladding and façade projects from inception through to final account
  • Prepare, submit, and manage valuations and applications for payment
  • Carry out subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and order placement
  • Monitor project costs and ensure accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Manage variations, change control, and compensation events
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and measure works
  • Liaise closely with project managers, design teams, and site teams
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and commercial procedures
  • Support final account negotiations and project close‑out

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within façades, cladding, or building envelope sector
  • Strong track record delivering commercial management on projects up to £10m
  • Good understanding of standard forms of contract (JCT / NEC desirable)
  • Experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors is advantageous
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Full UK driving licence (site travel required)
