About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a specialist subcontractor delivering high-quality aluminium curtain walling, glazing, windows, and door packages across the East Midlands and wider UK. This role requires strong, proven experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors, with a solid understanding of commercial construction environments, procurement processes, and competitive tendering. You will be working on a variety of projects ranging from £1m to £5m, using leading façade and window systems including Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal, and producing estimates using LogiKal software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium window/door packages
  • Use LogiKal software to produce detailed and technically accurate quotations and system outputs
  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and employer's requirements in detail
  • Carry out detailed take-offs and material schedules
  • Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Build up labour, plant, and material costs for tenders
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
  • Work closely with commercial and pre-construction teams on bid submissions
  • Attend tender review meetings and support handover to delivery teams
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within façades, glazing, or aluminium systems
  • Strong experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors is essential
  • Good technical knowledge of Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal products
  • Proficient in LogiKal software for estimating and system design outputs
  • Experience pricing curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium systems in the £1m-£5m range
  • Strong understanding of construction procurement and contract processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical capability
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines
