Instrument Technician (Days) - Permanent Location: Ayrshire, Scotland Salary: Circa £55,000 + Pension + Overtime + Excellent Training & Development An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Instrument Technician to join a well-established, high-performing manufacturing site operating within a highly regulated process environment. The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive instrumentation maintenance across the site, ensuring plant reliability, safety and operational performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant instrumentation. Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and safely. Maintaining and calibrating instrumentation including temperature, pressure, level, flow, pH and control valves. Ensuring all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and permit-to-work systems. Completing maintenance documentation and updating SAP records accurately. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance activities. Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise plant availability. Acting as a mentor to junior technicians and apprentices, supporting their technical development.
What We're Looking For
Minimum of two years' experience as an Instrument Technician within a process manufacturing, chemical or heavy industrial environment. HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline. CompEx certification 01-04 is essential. Strong fault-finding, calibration and instrumentation maintenance experience. Knowledge of Functional Safety or Machine Safety would be advantageous.
