Overview
Our client is a leading specialist contractor delivering façade and external envelope packages on major construction projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Managing Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in overseeing the commercial performance of projects across the North West. This is a senior position offering a blend of office-based work in Wrexham and regular site visits, with the opportunity to influence commercial strategy and support project delivery at both a strategic and operational level. The role also offers a clear and defined pathway to Commercial Director level as the business continues to expand.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee the commercial management of multiple façade / envelope packages across various projects
- Lead and support Quantity Surveyors across the business
- Take responsibility for cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and accounts
- Ensure accurate valuation, variation management, and final account agreements
- Provide commercial input into project planning and delivery strategy
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, main contractors, and stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes and procedures
- Support senior leadership with commercial strategy and business growth initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor role
- Strong background in façade, cladding, or external envelope packages (preferred) or wider construction experience
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects and leading commercial teams
- Strong contractual knowledge (e.g. JCT, NEC)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Highly organised with strong financial and analytical ability
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
