A Major Tier 1 Supplier in the Automotive sector are looking for two Facilities Engineers to join the team at their impressive site in the Telford area. You will be a flexible and versatile Engineer with a background of facilities maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Operating in a fast-paced Tier 1 environment, you will be able to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting systems.

The key responsibilities of the Facilities Engineer role will be:

  • Manage and maintain various facility systems, including lighting, compressors, cooling towers, fire alarms, plumbing, and ventilation.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all equipment and systems are functioning correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any issues to minimize downtime and prevent disruptions to production.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to mitigate potential equipment failures.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to plan and execute equipment upgrades or modifications.
  • Oversee site security measures to ensure the safety of personnel, equipment, and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing and repairs as needed.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements in facilities management and implement innovative solutions where applicable.

The key requirements of the Facilities Engineer will be:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Facilities Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Previous leadership experience managing a team (e.g., contractors).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a structured approach to resolving issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
