Fantastic opportunity to join a major tier one automotive supplier as a Resident Quality Technician working on-site at the customer automotive OEM based in Solihull.

Industry: Automotive / high volume manufacturing

Salary: £20.95ph / equivalent to £39,750 per annum

Hours: 36.5 hour week – days

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

You will be a hands-on Quality Technician based onsite at the customers manufacturing facility in Solihull and will be the on-site liaison with the customer, supporting any immediate quality concerns, managing quality containment and initiating problem-resolution on behalf of a leading Tier 1 supplier.

This role suits someone with a solid foundation in engineering or manufacturing quality, confident enough to work directly with customer and internal stakeholders. You will already be an experienced Quality Technician, Quality Inspector or Junior Quality Engineer working within fast paced high volume automotive manufacturing environment and seeking your next career step with global organisation.

Job Purpose

  • Support production quality control via process audit, 1st offs, inspection, containment and goods inward inspection
  • Support and resolve quality concerns through structured problem solving
  • Develop quality process instructions and assist with training
  • Issue and monitor Quality alerts and ensure adhered
  • Be the voice of quality on the shop floor – lead by example and help to develop business wide understanding of Quality and its related processes and procedures

Experience Required

  • Good standard of education, preferable apprentice trained (BTEC/ HND Engineering)
  • Good understanding of basic quality tools and structured problem-solving (8D, Ishikawa, 5Y)
  • Confident communicator who can build relationships at all levels on a customer site.
  • Good organisation, high attention to detail and comfortable working under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
