The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This is an interesting and varied responsibility overseeing the metrology laboratory and ensuring production measurement dimensional analysis is consistently aligned with customer objectives. The role focuses on team development, continuous improvement, capacity planning, launching new technology, and maintaining consistent performance of the CMM and GOM equipment, while ensuring new programme launch measurement requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of CMM and measurement technicians to prepare component sample measurement analysis.
- Validate product quality requirements for tool buyoff and APQP process.
- Carry out MSA where required and maintain CMM and non‑contact measurement processes.
- Develop training and teach relevant statistical and quality methodologies and procedures to the department.
- Develop inspection criteria, methods, procedures and test parameters for the product.
- Develop and manage KPIs for the Quality Metrology Lab area and manage capacity.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Applications are sought from experienced Metrology experts with supervisory and leadership experience and significant knowledge of production quality control and dimensional measurement analysis, gained within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Supervisory experience leading CMM or Quality Technicians.
- Expert in CMM programming (3D non‑contact scanning / Blue light / GOM) from CAD drawings.
- Proven GD&T experience with MSA and SPC data gathering, analysis and reporting.
- Ability to prepare, read and interpret reports, instructions & guidelines.
- Analytical experience including investigating issues, recognising trends, and recommending solutions to non‑routine complex quality issues.
