Technical Network has been retained by a large manufacturer to recruit experienced Hydro-Mechanical Technicians to support their state of the art test equipment cells. Responsible for one of their key product test & validation areas, this role provides a brilliant opportunity for a resilient and driven individual to make their mark on a growing UK business.
Maintenance Technician – Hydraulic/ Mechanical
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: c£49,000 (including shift allowance) + benefits
This role focuses on the maintenance and support of complex hydraulic / mechanical test equipment & machinery used to validate the company's products. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Perform planned maintenance and reactive maintenance on high pressure hydraulic systems & test equipment
- Repair machinery and equipment comprising of complex hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical/control systems
- Supervise and manage third-party contractors on-site
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
- Assist with Lean and site improvement initiatives
- Specify spare parts and support inventory management
- Able to work double day shift pattern
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Engineering or Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Proven experience testing, commissioning or maintaining hydro-mechanical machinery or similar equipment: high pressure (5000psi) hydraulic pump packs, manifolds, valves & filters etc.
- Strong fault finding & problem solving skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Basic understanding of electrical principles
- Additional certifications in areas such as Hydraulic Safety, PSSR, BFPA, NFPC, or Fluid Power are beneficial but training will be provided
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
