We are seeking a Senior Certification Engineer to join a growing special purpose vehicle manufacturer who are continuing to expand their presence in the European market.

Salary: c£50-58000 + benefits

Location: UK based – hybrid working – international travel

Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering with a dotted line to the Head of Quality, as Certification Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring products are compliant with European & global regulatory requirements. This will be a broad role, interfacing with all members of the global engineering teams, other internal stakeholders and external third parties delivering consultancy, inspection, testing and notified body services.

Duties:

  • Primary role is to manage product certification and regulatory compliance with all required regulatory, design and safety standards to supply safe and reliable products into target customers and global regions.
  • Ensuring that product certification requirements are considered during R&D, prototype testing and through to eventual commercial launch into global markets.
  • Support R&D & sales team through their expert theoretical and practical legislation awareness and detailed understanding of assigned market regions.
  • Manage product certification process internally and with external regulatory bodies, customers and test houses.
  • Maintenance of certification and product quality plans & procedures.

Key Skills / Experience:

  • Applications are sought from experienced Certification Engineers, Regulatory Compliance Engineers, Product Approval or Homologation Engineers who are keen to specialise in the product approval process and would relish the opportunity to join a new business in a newly created function and influence the strategy of the department.
  • HND/ Degree (engineering, science, quality discipline).
  • Demonstrate practical experience of delivering complex product certifications within an engineering or technology led manufacturing business – electrical/ mechanical/ software.
  • Knowledge of engineering or environmental standards; for example (EN474; EN1459; EN13000; EN1175; UKCA/CE Directives; REACH; EMC; Functional Safety; Emissions etc) and willing to adapt with regulatory changes.
  • Industry/ product knowledge gained in off highway/ construction vehicles, agricultural vehicles, commercial vehicles, automotive or special purpose vehicles.
  • An eye for detail, be able to research technical standards with a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Effective technical report writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing & able to travel internationally.
