A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join a global manufacturing organisation and afford the flexibility to support both ongoing production issues and be responsible for CapEx and new manufacturing investment projects.
Our client is a specialist manufacturer, supplying complex metallic products and assemblies for the automotive industry. This year promises several key product launches, continued investment in the production facility and subsequent increase in volumes with further growth planned.
- Specification of production facilities and capital equipment and make recommendations for the selection of vendors' equipment
- Implement improvements in manufacturing processes to optimise process performance and capability
- Lead CAPEX specification and facilitate project timing, approval process and budget
- Lead machine PFMEA process for major capital equipment
- Support New Product Development (NPI) initiatives and DFM/DFA
- Optimise process flow and minimise waste through use of VSM and lean manufacturing methods
You will already be a competent Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Industrial Engineer or Engineering Manager with previous experience within high volume or large batch mechanical manufacturing background:
- Time served or Graduate Mechanical in Manufacturing Engineering or similar technical subject
- Proven experience leading significant capital equipment (CAPEX) projects including specification, cost justification and vendor management through to project buy off and successful NPI launch
- Project management and supplier/vendor liaison
- Experience of production processes and equipment utilised in plastic moulding, stamping, cold rolling, casting, forging, CNC machining or large automated/robotic assembly
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on several tasks or projects concurrently
- Willing to travel to meet suppliers as required
