Are you a hands-on HR professional who thrives in the high-energy atmosphere of a fast-paced production environment? We are seeking a dynamic HR Manager to lead a site-based team for a leading food manufacturer, reporting into the HR Director. This is a visible, generalist role where you will hit the ground running, partnering closely with operational leaders to drive best practices and manage the full employee lifecycle.

The business has seen consistent growth. This is an entrepreneurial environment where decisions are made quickly, allowing you to make a tangible impact without the burden of excessive red tape. You will be overseeing a small team of HR professionals, reporting to the HR Director and be on top of everything from ER through to implementing policy and procedure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations: Lead on complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management while ensuring full compliance with UK employment law.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a small, dedicated HR team.
  • Operational Partnering: Coach and mentor line / floor managers to enhance their people management capabilities and shop-floor visibility.
  • Change Management: Play a pivotal role in organisational change, including workforce planning and site transformation initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive enhancements in HR policies, processes, and systems.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Proven Background: Significant HR experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or a blue-collar environment is essential.
  • ER Specialist: Experience in managing complex employee relations.
  • Leadership: Experience managing or mentoring team members.
  • Mindset: A positive, energetic approach with the ability to work autonomously and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Qualification: CIPD Level 5 or above.
