Structural Designer / Structural Engineer, Colchester, Essex Salary: £36,000 – £47,000 | Full-time or Part-time (3-day week option) Office-based with site visits Join a friendly, innovative and growing independent consultant We have an opportunity for a Structural Designer to join our team on a full time or part time (3-day week) to complement our consultancy services. We provide a full in-house design package, including civil infrastructure, structural engineering, utility design management, civil groundworks, land surveying and site engineering services. The team works from a rural office in an area of outstanding natural beauty, avoiding the busy commute into Colchester or Ipswich. About the Role: As our Structural Designer / Engineer, you\’ll provide detailed structural engineering designs, calcs and structural analysis. Collaborating with project teams to develop design solutions, helping to manage clients and projects with technical advice. The role is office based, with regular site visits for compliance, design specs and project delivery. What You\’ll Do: * Producing design solutions from initial concept to completion * Design and analyse structures using AutoCAD, Revit, and SAP2000. * Using TEKLA TEDDS, TSD or similar * Working with Architects, Contractors, and Engineers to ensure that designs are feasible and meet project requirements * Prepare technical reports and design information for clients, site meetings and visits You’ll have a background in structural engineering and post qualification experience gained with a local consultant, developer or contractor design team. Degree or HND level working towards a professional membership, locally based in the Essex or Suffolk.
