We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Advisor / Clerk of Works to join our clients multidisciplinary contractor design team. You will support projects across all stages, from early design to completion, spanning a diverse portfolio including education, retail, commercial, industrial, offices, healthcare, research facilities, and award-winning residential and Passivhaus developments. In this role, you will provide proactive technical advice and support to our construction site teams, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance, and construction excellence are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Support site teams in the preparation and implementation of Project Quality Plans, monitoring and testing processes, and quality procedures.
- Conduct site reviews and provide reports highlighting:
- Best practice examples
- Items requiring referral to the design team
- Non-conformance or compliance issues against quality standards, Employers Requirements, and statutory requirements
- Recommended preventative actions for project acceptance
- Materials inspection, testing, and reporting
- Specification guidance
- Monitoring and support for complex or high-quality works
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong construction technical knowledge and practical experience.
- Familiarity with materials, quality standards, and technical standards (e.g., Building Regulations).
- Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail.
- Membership of ICWCI, or working toward, is advantageous.
- Proven ability to problem-solve and implement best practice solutions.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in construction, gained with a main contractor.
- Experience across multiple sectors and project types is highly desirable.
- Background as a Site Manager, Clerk of Works, or similar with practical hands-on site knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, mentor, and build strong client and team relationships.
