We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Project Engineer to join a collaborative team of Project Managers, Survey Managers, Engineers, Investigation Engineers and BIM Technicians. This role offers the opportunity to further develop expertise within forensic investigation consultancy, with structured training provided to refine and expand existing experience in surveying and structural investigation services. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in site investigation, condition assessment and remedial design of existing structures. You will also be responsible for undertaking first-principles load capacity assessments of buildings and infrastructure.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered status (or actively working towards Chartered membership)
- Significant experience working on existing buildings and/or refurbishment schemes
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Structural surveying
- Non‑destructive testing (NDT)
- Intrusive investigations
- Material sampling and testing
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and contribute to multiple concurrent investigation projects, with responsibilities including:
- Collaborating with Project Managers, Site Investigation Teams and Clients to define project requirements
- Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, adapting to evolving project needs
- Communicating complex technical information clearly to clients and colleagues
- Preparing and submitting project status reports
- Undertaking first‑principles load capacity assessments of existing structures
- Producing comprehensive, technically robust investigation reports, including data interpretation, conclusions and recommendations for repair, remediation or further assessment
- Carrying out extended service life assessments and preparing structure life care plans
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including attendance at workshops
- Contributing to business improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
- Mentoring junior engineers, maintaining CPD records and supporting professional development
- Ensuring full compliance with company Health & Safety procedures and maintaining relevant certifications
