Technical Marine Supplies (TMS) is a leading supplier of high-quality, market leading marine products and supply specialist marine equipment to customers across the UK and Europe. Operating in the marine sector—from performance sailing dinghies to superyachts—we work closely with OEMs, boatbuilders, riggers, sailmakers and refit yards to deliver technical solutions backed by strong product knowledge and service.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow and strengthen TMS’s presence across key marine markets. This role is focused on new business development, strategic account growth, and brand representation, working closely with internal technical and operations teams. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands the marine industry, enjoys building long-term relationships, and is comfortable selling technical products and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities with boatbuilders, marine electricians, riggers, refit yards, and marine OEMs
  • Manage and grow existing client relationships, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Represent TMS and its partner brands at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings
  • Work closely with the technical and operations teams to ensure accurate product solutions and quotations
  • Develop sales strategies for key product ranges and territories
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback
  • Support the launch of new products and brands into the market
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a business development, sales, or account management role
  • Background in the marine industry (rigging, spars, hydraulics, deck hardware, or related technical products) strongly preferred
  • Confident selling technical solutions in a B2B environment
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with internal teams
  • Comfortable with UK and European travel
  • Well organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft 365
  • Existing industry network within yacht builders, riggers, or refit yards
  • Experience working with international suppliers and distributors
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Passion for sailing or the marine sector
  • Location in the Southwest preferred, although not essential
