Job Description

The Pre-Construction Manager is primarily involved in the effective management of single and/or multiple projects in the preconstruction stage, with a continued supporting role in project(s) as required by the business. In addition, they would liaise with the Pre-Construction Director and the overall team in respect of upcoming projects, assisting in overall planning and programme delivery.

  1. Manage the preconstruction process for assigned projects.
  2. Ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction while maintaining strong relationships with clients, designers, architects, and the project team.
  3. Bid management and review of negotiated tenders.
  4. Work with Business Development delivering client presentations.
  5. Plan preconstruction and project-specific set up.
  6. Liaise with the estimating team for various phases of pre-construction, programming, schematic design, design development.
  7. Check tender and design compliance with specifications and Employer\’s requirements.
  8. Attend early planning meetings with the client.
  9. Coordinate preconstruction and cost planning input.
  10. Assist with pricing changes that may occur.
  11. Assist the site-based PM and management team.
  12. Review and assist the project progress reporting, including input information.
  13. Negotiate subcontract packages and major plant procurement up to appointment and orders.
  14. Develop commissioning and test plans with project teams.
  15. Assist with the management of handover and project close out.

Qualifications

  1. Extensive experience in a Pre-construction focused or related role.
  2. Proficient in Trimble/Amtech Estimating software.
  3. Knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical installations essential.
  4. Bachelor\’s degree Level in Engineering or similar Discipline.
  5. Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
