Employment Type: Full-time\\n\\nSector: Civil Engineering / Commercial / Infrastructure / Residential\\n\\nOverview\\n\\nWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of construction projects across the Manchester region. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in civil engineering works, structural construction, internal fit-out, and multi-disciplinary coordination, with the proven ability to manage site operations from pre-construction through to handover.\\n\\nThis role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the wider project team.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nSite & Project Delivery\\n\\n * Lead day-to-day site operations across civil engineering, commercial, infrastructure, and residential projects.\\n\\n * Oversee groundworks, piling, drainage works, temporary works, concrete/steel frame construction, and all associated enabling works.\\n\\n * Manage internal fit-out activities including drywall, M&E coordination, and specialist packages.\\n\\n * Ensure all construction activities are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.\\n\\n * Maintain quality standards across all phases of the build.\\n\\nPlanning & Coordination\\n\\n * Coordinate with design teams, engineers, clients, authorities, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.\\n\\n * Produce and manage short-term programmes, tracking progress and identifying potential delays early.\\n\\n * Liaise with local authorities and service providers for inspections, permits, and compliance requirements.\\n\\n * Manage package contractors, ensuring clarity of scope, performance, and interface coordination.\\n\\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\\n\\n * Enforce site health & safety standards and ensure all works comply with statutory regulations.\\n\\n * Monitor and review RAMS, permits, and inspection documentation.\\n\\n * Lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.\\n\\nLeadership & Team Management\\n\\n * Provide clear direction to site teams, subcontractors, and workforce.\\n\\n * Motivate teams and encourage collaborative planning to achieve project milestones.\\n\\n * Support a positive site culture through effective communication and problem-solving.\\n\\nCommercial & Reporting\\n\\n * Work with commercial teams to manage budgets, variations, procurement needs, and material allocation.\\n\\n * Track progress, produce regular site reports, and support decision-making for the wider project team.\\n\\n * Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost-effective solutions.\\n\\nProblem Solving & Decision Making\\n\\n * Analyse challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions.\\n\\n * Maintain composure during high-pressure situations and resolve issues quickly and professionally.\\n\\nSkills & Experience\\n\\n * Proven experience working as a Construction Manager, Site Manager, or Package Manager on multi-disciplinary projects.\\n\\n * Strong knowledge across civil engineering, groundworks, drainage, concrete frames, temporary works, and fit-out.\\n\\n * Ability to manage multiple packages and trades simultaneously.\\n\\n * Excellent communication and leadership skills.\\n\\n * Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme delivery.\\n\\n * Competent in managing health & safety and statutory compliance.\\n\\nPersonal Attributes\\n\\n * Effective communicator able to engage confidently with workforce, clients, and stakeholders.\\n\\n * Highly organised, methodical, and proactive in driving progress.\\n\\n * Strong motivator with a positive approach to team collaboration.\\n\\n * Problem-solver with the ability to think creatively and deliver practical solutions
