Hours of work: Monday – Friday – 7:30am – 4:00pm (with option for overtime when available); Weekend work – Saturday availability (optional overtime).
Job Summary
Due to an upturn in business and orders, we are seeking a number of skilled MIG Welders or candidates suitable for training to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess a background in welding and fabrication, ideally with experience of working on large container size fabrications. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with hand and power tools; FLT license is desirable but not essential.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding ensuring high-quality welds that meet industry standards.
- Fabricate components from sheet metal according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently in the assembly of metal skips.
- Conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance with good practice.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
- Apply basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to welding tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in MIG welding.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes and the ability to read technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with experience using various hand tools and power tools effectively.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations during the welding process.
- Previous experience in assembly work is preferred but not mandatory.
