Technica is an independent engineering and construction company solving complex challenges for the UK and international energy sectors. We deliver turnkey, multidisciplinary projects — from design through to build — with control, confidence and care.

Our ‘Why’: “Technica believe in long‑term relationships. We want our clients to have total trust that we’ll deliver excellence in our solutions to their engineering problems.”

We’re entering a bold new chapter, underpinned by a 5‑year growth strategy that will see Technica evolve, expand and play a leading role in the energy transition. We’re looking for people who want to build something meaningful — for themselves, our clients, and our sector.

Why this role matters

We’re hiring a Workshop Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of our panel build and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) workshop. This role isn’t just about managing materials — it’s about creating an organised, safe environment where our engineering teams can perform at their best.

You’ll be the kind of person who:

  • Sets the standard in the workshop — organised, dependable, and proactive
  • Builds strong relationships with project, procurement, and engineering teams
  • Keeps processes running efficiently with excellent control of stock and documentation
  • Looks for opportunities to improve workflow, layout, and performance

How you’ll Contribute

  • You’ll coordinate the day‑to‑day running of our busy workshop — supporting panel builds, FAT testing, and ensuring reliable delivery for clients.
  • Manage daily workshop operations to maintain high standards of quality, organisation, and safety
  • Assist with deliveries, goods in/out, and coordination of materials
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Create and update spreadsheets and documentation — with particular focus on Cyber Projects
  • Liaise with procurement and project teams to ensure timely availability of components
  • Support wider operations and engineering teams with workshop tasks
  • Contribute ideas toward improving workshop layout and future development
  • Report to the Construction Interface Manager and work closely with Procurement

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in workshop coordination, assembly, or production support
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical components used in panel builds and junction boxes
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and digital record‑keeping
  • Understanding of FAT testing processes and quality control
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Experience in the gas network or utilities sector
  • Exposure to workshop efficiency or process‑improvement initiatives

Personal Attributes

  • Reliable, hands‑on, and detail‑focused
  • Able to work independently while supporting a wider team
  • Positive, adaptable, and open to improving ways of working
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality

What you’ll get

  • Opportunities to develop within a growing engineering business
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Company pension
  • Private healthcare options
  • Supportive team culture and long‑term career development

Ready to contribute with trust? This isn’t just another workshop role. It’s a chance to bring order, structure, and efficiency to a key part of our engineering delivery — helping our teams succeed and our clients receive the confidence and quality Technica is known for.
