Technica is an independent engineering and construction company solving complex challenges for the UK and international energy sectors. We deliver turnkey, multi-disciplinary projects — from design through to build — with control, confidence and care.
Our ‘Why’: “Technica believe in long‑term relationships. We want our clients to have total trust that we’ll deliver excellence in our solutions to their engineering problems.”
We’re entering a bold new chapter, underpinned by a 5‑Year growth strategy that will see Technica evolve, expand and play a leading role in the energy transition. We’re looking for people who want to build something meaningful — for themselves, our clients, and our sector.
Why this role matters
We’re hiring a Planning Coordinator to support the delivery of complex engineering and cyber‑focused projects. But this role is more than just coordination — it’s about ensuring our teams and clients have clear visibility of activities, milestones and progress. You’ll help create structure in complex project environments, supporting Project Managers and technical teams to stay aligned and deliver with confidence.
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Thrives on organising activities and bringing clarity to complex project environments
- Enjoys working with technical teams and coordinating information across multiple stakeholders
- Understands that good planning and communication are essential to delivering great project outcomes
You’ll work closely with Project Managers, engineers and clients to maintain visibility of project activities from design through to construction and handover.
How you’ll Contribute
You’ll support the coordination and tracking of project activities, ensuring teams remain aligned and key milestones are clearly monitored. You’ll:
- Attend and contribute to project and team meetings
- Coordinate activities across internal teams, ensuring actions and deliverables are clearly tracked and communicated
- Work with discipline engineers and project stakeholders to gather and organise project information and updates
- Maintain simple project activity trackers to monitor key deliverables, milestones and dependencies
- Track progress against agreed milestones (e.g. IFA, IFC, procurement, installation, SAT and handover) and flag potential issues to the Project Manager
- Coordinate inputs from Technica teams and the client to maintain visibility of upcoming activities
- Support alignment between design outputs and construction requirements by tracking deliverables and timelines
- Provide forward visibility of upcoming activities and key dates to support project planning
- Identify potential coordination or scheduling conflicts and raise them early with the Project Manager
- Prepare summary updates on project activities and progress for the Project Manager
What you’ll bring
Essentials:
- Experience supporting project coordination, planning or administration in a technical or engineering environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to track activities, manage documentation and maintain clear project records
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Experience supporting engineering, infrastructure or construction projects
- Familiarity with project lifecycle stages such as design, procurement and installation
- Experience using project trackers or document management systems
- Understanding of engineering or cyber‑related project environments
What you’ll get
- £17.71- £21.25 per hour
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Private healthcare (plus family options available)
- Company pension
- Death in Service & Critical Illness cover
- Recognition scheme & genuine commitment to your development
Ready to build something meaningful? This isn’t just another coordination role. It’s an opportunity to help deliver complex engineering projects and support teams who are solving real challenges.
