About Technica Ltd

Technica is an independent engineering and construction company solving complex challenges for the UK and international energy sectors. We deliver turnkey, multi-disciplinary projects — from design through to build — with control, confidence and care.

Our ‘Why’

“Technica believe in long‑term relationships. We want our clients to have total trust that we’ll deliver excellence in our solutions to their engineering problems.”

Why this role matters

We’re hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of some of our most important engineering projects. This role is about more than schedules and reporting — it’s about helping create a positive, professional experience for our clients and project teams. You’ll work closely with experienced Project Managers and Senior Engineers, helping coordinate activities, maintain project visibility, and ensure clients feel supported and informed throughout delivery.

This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:

  • Enjoys organisation, communication, and helping projects run smoothly
  • Wants to build a long‑term career in project management within engineering and infrastructure
  • Thrives in collaborative environments and takes pride in delivering a great client experience
  • Is motivated to learn and develop within a growing business

You don’t need deep experience in Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation (EC&I) or the energy sector to succeed here. What we need is an Assistant Project Manager who earns trust, listens well, communicates clearly, and helps clients feel in safe hands. If your experience is transferable — and your mindset is proactive — we’ll support you to gain any technical knowledge you need.

How you’ll Contribute

You’ll play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of engineering projects from planning through to completion. Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Senior Engineers, you’ll help keep projects organised, visible, and running smoothly while developing your own project management capability. You’ll gain exposure to all stages of project delivery and build the skills needed to progress into a Project Manager role over time.

You’ll:

  • Support Project Managers with the coordination and delivery of engineering projects
  • Help maintain clear communication between clients, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, reporting, and documentation
  • Attend project meetings, capture actions, and help track progress against milestones
  • Monitor project risks, actions, budgets, and resource updates
  • Support supplier coordination and commercial administration activities
  • Help ensure projects are delivered in line with CDM regulations, QHSE standards, and company procedures
  • Build strong working relationships across project and engineering teams
  • Contribute to creating a positive and professional client experience throughout project delivery

What you’ll bring

Essentials:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a project support, coordination, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or operational environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Confidence working with different stakeholders and teams
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project reporting tools
  • Attention to detail and a structured approach to work

Desirables:

  • Previous exposure to project delivery environments
  • Understanding of project management principles or methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile
  • Experience supporting engineering, construction, utilities, or infrastructure projects
  • Awareness of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, or QHSE processes
  • H&S qualification such as NEBOSH Managing Safely
  • Interest in the energy sector and technical project delivery

What you’ll get:

  • £35,000–£60,000 salary, based on experience
  • Performance based Company Bonus scheme
  • 25 days holiday + bank holiday
  • Private healthcare (plus family options)
  • Company pension
  • Death in Service & Critical Illness cover
  • Flexible options available for the right candidate
  • Recognition scheme & genuine commitment to your development
