This is a hands-on role combining production support, OLAP development, and close stakeholder collaboration. The successful consultant will maintain stability while driving continuous improvement of enterprise reporting and planning solutions for Finance and Commercial teams.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day support and enhancement of Oracle-based OLAP and analytical systems, ensuring data accuracy, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 application support for Oracle OLAP and analytical platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OLAP cubes, data loads, calculations and hierarchies
- Develop, enhance and maintain OLAP DML scripts
- Support and improve multidimensional data models and analytical reporting outputs
- Investigate and resolve performance, data quality and reconciliation issues
- Work closely with Finance and Commercial stakeholders to understand business requirements
- Deliver ongoing enhancements and minor development initiatives
- Support BAU operations for enterprise reporting and planning solutions
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience supporting OLAP-based reporting or planning systems, such as: Oracle OLAP / Analytical Workspace (AW), Essbase, TM1, Board, Microsoft SSAS, Tableau, SAP BW / BW/4HANA
- Strong understanding of multidimensional modelling concepts, including hierarchies, time-series data, aggregation paths and calculation logic, FP&A or planning workflows
- Background in application or production support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable / Nice to Have
- Oracle Express / Oracle OLAP Option
- OLAP DML development experience
- Exposure to OFA / OSA (Oracle Financial Analyzer / Oracle Sales Analyzer)
- VBA for Excel
- Oracle SQL / PL-SQL
- Understanding of Finance or Sales data domains
- Experience with Oracle Analytical Views
