Location: Berkshire (3-4 days per week onsite)

We are seeking an experienced Service Delivery Manager to join a global organisation on an initial 3-6 month contract. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing support teams, driving service excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of IT services across a busy and complex international environment. Working closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams and third-party suppliers, you will take ownership of service performance, governance, continuous improvement initiatives and operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage IT support and service teams, ensuring effective day-to-day service delivery.
  • Own service delivery processes and drive continual service improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for service-related issues and major incidents.
  • Monitor and manage service performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • Drive ITIL best practices across Incident, Problem, Change and Request Management.
  • Produce regular service reporting and performance metrics for senior leadership.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Support service transition, transformation and improvement programmes where required.
  • Ensure services are aligned to business objectives and delivered to a consistently high standard.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Service Delivery Manager, Senior Service Delivery Manager, Head of Service Delivery or similar leadership role.
  • Strong experience managing IT support, service desk or operational support teams.
  • Excellent understanding and practical application of ITIL principles and service management frameworks.
  • Experience managing service performance, SLAs, KPIs and service reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience operating within large enterprise or global environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience with enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) / Service Desk platforms such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Hornbill, Jira Service Management, Ivanti, Freshservice, ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus, Cherwell or similar.
  • ITIL Foundation, Practitioner or higher certification.
  • Experience delivering service improvement, transformation and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience managing services within large-scale, complex or global organisations.
  • Exposure to supplier and vendor management.
  • Experience supporting service transition and change programmes.
