Rate: Up to £475 per day (Outside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer to support a major embedded systems programme within a highly regulated engineering environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in cybersecurity engineering activities across complex vehicle platforms, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA) for embedded systems and electronic control units.
- Define and document cybersecurity requirements and technical specifications.
- Produce high-quality engineering documentation to support compliance and assurance activities.
- Define cryptographic service requirements for embedded platforms.
- Support cybersecurity activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering, software and systems teams across multiple locations.
- Contribute to programme delivery, ensuring milestones are achieved within agreed timescales.
- Support technical reviews, audits and cybersecurity governance activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience within automotive or embedded systems cybersecurity engineering.
- Working knowledge of automotive cybersecurity standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience performing Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA).
- Strong understanding of embedded system architectures and vehicle communication networks.
- Experience defining cybersecurity requirements and security controls.
- Ability to produce detailed technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Experience working across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience within safety-critical or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with cryptographic services and secure communications.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance and audit activities.
- Knowledge of requirements management and technical documentation platforms.
- Exposure to connected, autonomous or intelligent embedded systems.
