A global consumer-facing technology organisation is refining its web strategy to focus on building secure, scalable, and high-quality web experiences that support multiple brands and empower Marketing teams.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and evolving a large-scale web presence across several high-traffic consumer websites. You'll help ensure these platforms remain fast, reliable, and aligned with internal standards, while parts of the web stack are consolidated and selectively transitioned to external partners. This role is well suited to an engineer who enjoys combining hands-on development with technical stewardship, working closely with Marketing, Product, and external agencies to deliver smooth, secure web experiences used by millions of users globally.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve core web applications and shared frontend infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Design, and external partners on new website initiatives and campaigns.
- Review and guide third-party development work to ensure consistency, performance, and security.
- Contribute to long-term decommissioning and migration projects within the web platform.
- Build tools and workflows that enable Marketing teams to manage and deploy content safely and efficiently.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, modernise, or consolidate existing systems and processes.
Tech stack includes: TypeScript, React, Next.js, PHP, Nginx, Docker.
Background & Experience
Essential Skills
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
- Solid experience with Next.js and modern frontend best practices.
- Strong foundation in web UI development (HTML, CSS, responsive design).
- Good understanding of frontend security, performance optimisation, and accessibility.
- Ability to clearly document and communicate technical decisions.
- Experience maintaining or reviewing production systems operating at scale.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with API design and integration patterns.
- Understanding of backend systems (PHP, Node.js) and hosting environments (Linux, Nginx).
