Oracle OLAP Consultant
12 month Contract (extendable), Outside IR35, Fully remote role (UK)
My client is seeking an experienced L1/L2 Support & Development Analyst with strong expertise in Oracle OLAP Option/Oracle Analytical Workspace (AW). The role focuses on supporting and enhancing business-critical analytical and planning platforms used by Finance and Commercial stakeholders. This is a hands-on role combining application support, OLAP development, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Provide L1/L2 application support for Oracle-based analytical and OLAP systems
Troubleshoot issues related to OLAP cubes, data loads, calculations, and hierarchies
Develop, enhance, and maintain OLAP DML scripts
Support and improve multidimensional data models and analytical reports
Investigate and resolve performance and data quality issues
Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to understand business requirements
Assist with ongoing enhancements and minor development initiatives
Support BAU operations of enterprise reporting and planning solutions
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience supporting an OLAP-based reporting or planning system, such as: Oracle OLAP/Analytical Workspace, Essbase, TM1, Board, MS SSAS, Tableau, SAP BW/BW/4HANA
Strong understanding of multidimensional concepts, including: Hierarchies and dimensional modelling. Time-series data. Aggregation paths and calculation logic. FP&A or planning workflows
Background in application or production support, strong analytical and problem-solving capability and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable/Nice to Have
Oracle Express/Oracle OLAP Option
OLAP DML development experience
Exposure to OFA/OSA (Oracle Financial Analyzer/Oracle Sales Analyzer)
VBA for Excel
Oracle SQL/PL/SQL
Understanding of Finance or Sales data domains
Experience with Oracle Analytical Views
