We're hiring a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join a globally distributed infrastructure team supporting a large-scale, high-traffic platform. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping the network stable, secure, and highly performant, while also contributing to automation and cloud transformation initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure across multiple global data centres and offices
- Performing advanced diagnostics across network layers and server networking (Linux/CentOS environments)
- Driving improvements through automation and configuration management
- Contributing to cloud networking initiatives as infrastructure evolves
- Managing IP address space, VLANs, and subnetting
- Working closely with system engineers to share knowledge and improve performance
- Engaging with external providers, including global IP transit operators
- Supporting network security and maintaining a secure perimeter
- Participating in an on-call rota
Skills/Experience required:
- 5+ years' experience in Linux systems engineering (RHEL/CentOS preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across networking and systems (L1-L7)
- Solid experience with routing protocols (BGP, IS-IS; OSPF a plus)
- Hands-on experience with Juniper (MX, SRX, QFX) devices
- Knowledge of EVPN-VXLAN architectures and modern data centre networking
- Experience with load balancing, packet filtering, and high-traffic environments
- Understanding of IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ICMP diagnostics
- Exposure to GCP
- Experience with cloud networking and CDN environments
- Exposure to DDoS prevention/mitigation and network security best practices
