About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Microwave Construction Manager to lead field-based microwave and telecom infrastructure projects across Alaska. This role is responsible for overseeing site construction, upgrades, and integration activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with carrier standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end construction of microwave towers, shelters, and licensed backhaul infrastructure.
- Oversee microwave radio installation, path alignment, commissioning, and performance validation.
- Supervise DC power systems including generators, rectifiers, battery banks, grounding, HVAC, and fuel systems.
- Conduct site walks, readiness assessments, and quality audits.
- Review SOWs, MOPs, construction drawings, and redline as-builts.
- Manage field crews, subcontractors, and vendors ensuring OSHA compliance and safety adherence.
- Track project milestones, budgets, schedules, and close-out documentation.
- Coordinate with utilities, landlords, and local authorities for site access and infrastructure readiness.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and carrier-specific construction standards.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years’ experience managing microwave or telecom construction projects.
- Experience with licensed microwave systems and backhaul deployment.
- Strong understanding of tower construction, grounding, DC power systems, and shelter infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage field teams in remote or extreme‑weather environments.
- OSHA 30 certification mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- Must be Alaska‑based and authorized to work in the US.
