About the Role:
Weβre seeking a highly experienced HFC Access Network Engineer to support the design, configuration, and deployment of DOCSIS and xPON technologies across client networks in the United States. This fully remote role is open to candidates located anywhere in the USA, with availability required during Pacific Time (PT) hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimise DOCSIS 3.1/4.0 and xPON (GPON/XGS-PON) access networks.
- Configure and maintain CMTS and OLT equipment from vendors such as Cisco, ARRIS, Calix, Nokia, or Huawei.
- Develop deployment strategies and supporting documentation for fibre and HFC access networks.
- Provide remote support to field and NOC teams during implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of complex access network issues.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in HFC access network engineering.
- Deep understanding of DOCSIS technologies (3.1 or 4.0) and xPON architectures (GPON/XGS-PON).
- Experience configuring CMTS platforms (e.g., Cisco cBR-8, ARRIS E6000) and OLT systems.
- Prior experience supporting major MSOs (e.g., Comcast, Charter, Cox) is highly preferred.
- Proficient in RF signal design, fibre provisioning, and network deployment tools.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
- Must reside in the USA and be available to work during Pacific Time (PT) hours.
