Techmunity are exclusively hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a fast‑growing London startup in the hospitality tech space.

They’re building an AI‑driven SaaS platform that runs back‑of‑house operations for coffee shops and quick‑service restaurants, already used by brands like Blank Street and Pret‑a‑Manger.

They’re on the cusp of a significant seed raise and will be doubling the tech team in the coming months, so you’ll be joining at an exciting time.

You’ll be the first dedicated data hire, working closely with an Engineering Manager who has 15+ years’ experience building and scaling teams across startups and UK Government.

The founder has previously built and successfully exited companies and is gearing up to do the same again here, so the data platform you build will sit at the heart of that story.

What you’ll be doing

• Own the warehouse and core data models, shaping how the company structures and uses data
• Build reliable ELT pipelines in Python/SQL as new features and integrations ship
• Create clean, well‑modelled tables that power reporting, product analytics and AI
• Put in place testing, quality checks and monitoring so everyone can trust the numbers
• Work closely with the Senior AI Engineer to supply datasets for forecasting and future agentic workflows

What they’re looking for

• Senior data engineer who has owned a production data stack end to end
• Deep SQL and data modelling experience (star schema, dimensional modelling, Kimball)
• Strong hands‑on Python plus experience with dbt and an orchestrator (Airflow, Dagster or similar)
• Someone who enjoys designing the long‑term architecture and writing the code to make it real
• Comfortable working closely with engineering and product in a fast‑moving startup

Package

£80,000 to £100,000 + equity. This role is fully onsite, 5 days per week in their Holborn office.
