Techmunity are hiring a Staff level Full Stack Engineer for a stealth deeptech company backed by Stride.VC, fresh off a £9m seed and preparing for Series A.
Heavy industry emits over half of global COâ‚‚, yet most operational plant data goes unused because systems are too complex and risky to modernise. This team has built a production AI platform that runs inside live refineries, combining time-series models, physics constraints and a domain-trained language layer to generate real-time optimisation and anomaly detection that operators can trust. Outputs must satisfy physical laws before they surface. This is software operating alongside critical infrastructure, not a reporting layer after the fact. Even small efficiency gains at this level move millions in operating margin and materially reduce carbon intensity.
The team has strong Imperial College density and a high technical bar. Engineering headcount is 10 and set to double through Series A.
The Staff Full Stack Engineer role
You will join the Core Engineering team building the platform that powers every deployment. Not forward-deployed custom work. Core system primitives that the company will scale on.
It’s a hands-on technical leadership role. Around 70% building, shaping backend services that expose model outputs as stable APIs, designing event-driven systems on Kubernetes, and contributing to the Svelte-based operator interface. The remaining 30% is tech leading a squad of 5+ engineers: setting standards, making architectural calls and keeping delivery tight.
You will be working at the boundary between research-grade AI and production-grade distributed systems, where outputs must be physically valid and operationally safe. Clean system boundaries and long-term maintainability matter.
They’re looking for a strong engineer with architectural judgement. Someone comfortable building production Python services, designing APIs, working in TypeScript on the frontend, and operating in AWS and Kubernetes with event-driven patterns. You don’t need to be a researcher, but you do need to think clearly about systems.
As the team scales, there’s a genuine path to Principal IC or leadership. Architectural decisions made now will define the platform for years.
The package is £120k–£140k plus meaningful equity. The company is remote-first and location flexible, with monthly London meetups for focused collaboration.
If you’re motivated by building infrastructure-level systems with real industrial impact, let’s talk.
