Techmunity is exclusively hiring a Senior AI Engineer for a fast‑growing SaaS startup in the hospitality tech space. You’ll be coming in to lead the next phase of their AI roadmap, from LLM‑powered automation to fully agentic workflows used by major high‑street coffee chains and quick‑service restaurants. This is a strategic role. You’ll be the most senior AI specialist in the business, working alongside an Engineering Manager with 15+ years’ experience across startups and UK Government.
What you’ll work on:
- Integrate and productionise LLMs, embeddings, vector search and retrieval pipelines
- Design and build agentic workflows (e.g. automated ordering, forecasting, operational automation)
- Evaluate build‑vs‑buy decisions across OpenAI, Anthropic, open‑source models and specialised services
- Work end‑to‑end: data flow, model selection, orchestration, backend integration and delivery
- Build forecasting and traditional ML systems using the company’s large operational dataset
- Collaborate with engineering, product and design to shape the AI strategy and priorities
- Ship high‑impact features that reach real stores in days and weeks, not quarters
What they’re looking for:
- Strong software engineering background (TypeScript, Node, APIs, distributed systems)
- Hands‑on experience integrating LLMs or building RAG pipelines
- Understanding of vector databases, embeddings and evaluation frameworks
- Ability to design multi‑modal or multi‑service AI systems (text, audio, video or tabular)
- Comfortable owning architecture and implementation without relying on large ML teams
- Someone who ships, iterates and operates with a product mindset
- Happy being onsite in Holborn five days a week
Nice to have:
- Experience with open‑source models (Hugging Face / PyTorch)
- Work with LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar orchestration frameworks
- Exposure to forecasting, time‑series or traditional ML methods
- Startup experience or delivering AI features in fast‑moving environments
Package & Logistics:
- 5 days/week onsite in Holborn
- Interviews are underway. If you’re an AI engineer who wants ownership, pace and a chance to define an AI roadmap from day one, message me or email
