If you've been waiting for an early product engineering seat in a fun YC AI company with life changing equity, this is it. They have built the AI intelligence layer for the global healthcare commercial ecosystem. Pharma, biotech, and MedTech companies spend over $70 billion a year engaging doctors and researchers, and most of it runs on slow, manual, fragmented processes. Their platform replaces the consultants, recruiters, and disconnected systems pharma currently strings together - they're already on track for £1M ARR in year 1, and have raised £2M with a further raise coming this summer.
The founders are early-career operators with serious output already. Top US university backgrounds, prior work pioneering automation inside a Big Four firm, published HCI research, and AI strategy training at a leading US business school between them. Their founding engineer came in from a hyperscaler data engineering team and one of the most respected corporate GenAI labs. He owns the data and infrastructure backbone of the product. You'll work alongside him. He brings the technical depth on data and infra, you bring the product instinct and the shipping pace. Together, you take them from technically excellent to commercially essential.
Tight-knit, hungry, extroverted. Work hard, play hard. Frequent offsites, regular socials, real culture. If you've been the most ambitious person on your last team and want to be surrounded by people who match your energy, you'll feel at home immediately.
Who they're hiring
- Expert at wielding modern AI tooling. This is the number one capability they hire for. Claude Code, Cursor, and the rest of the stack are part of your daily flow.
- At least 2 years of engineering experience inside startups that shipped product to external users.
- Product-minded. You think about the customer before the architecture.
- Technically strong and genuinely hands-on. You write good code and enjoy writing it.
- Owns outcomes, not tasks. You say "I built", not "I contributed to."
- Works without a roadmap. The brief is half-defined. You move forward anyway.
The stack they're using
- Python, FastAPI
- TypeScript, Next.js
- Azure
- MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Databricks, Neo4j
- LLMs, agentic workflows, RAG pipelines
Syntax matters less to them than what you've shipped. An engineer well skilled with AI will be able to pick up new surface areas and technologies quickly.
Package & Logistics
- £50,000 to £70,000 base.
- 2% equity, c.£400K notional at the current $20M valuation. Repricing imminent.
- Onsite in Hammersmith.
- Visa sponsorship available.
Process
- Intro call with the CEO.
- Lunch with the team.
- Technical interview, then a decision shortly after.
