An exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician based in Belfast, servicing and repairing heavy plant and equipment.
The Role:
Under the direction of the Head of Engineering you will:
- Provide the working, repairing or servicing of any aspect of mechanical or electrical plant, systems or equipment. This will include regular inspection and repairs of plant, such as cranes, machinery, safety equipment, electricity supplies - both high voltage and medium voltage, substations, street lighting, water supplies, pumping stations and all mechanical and electrical installations
- Interpret and follow technical instructions and have an awareness of maintenance management and planning processes
- Support Engineering Shift Leads and Engineers with ongoing development and adherence to risk assessments applicable to maintenance and inspection activities
- Work to support the Engineers with the introduction of new technology, contributing proactively to the development of new approaches and engineering innovation
The Person:
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A recognised Apprenticeship in mechatronic / electrical / mechanical engineering, or other related training
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance and repair
- A full UK Driving Licence
- Computer literate - ability to record technical and operational data for purposes of report writing
- Ideally experienced in fault finding on PLC controlled equipment
- Working knowledge of the operation of cranes and associated plant would be advantageous
