TechMet are recruiting for an Operations Manager based in Greater Belfast, involved in the design, development, and delivery of offsite-prefabricated energy systems. The Solutions team oversees the programming, procurement, planning, and execution of multiple offsite modular projects, including package plant rooms and MEP lateral and riser distribution modules.

The Operations Manager will provide leadership and direction across the operational delivery of Offsite Modular Solutions, with overall ownership and management of the mechanical, electrical, BMS, and offsite assembly teams, including management and resourcing of subcontracted labour. The successful candidate will manage cross-functional teams, foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and governance while maintaining visibility and input across commercial, engineering, design, quality, and logistical functions.
  • Developing, strengthening, and supporting the offsite operations team to sustainably deliver against current demand.
  • Providing operational input and guidance through design, engineering, planning, and quality teams to drive operational efficiency.
  • Managing the Modular Solutions team to ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard of quality.
  • Resource and manage subcontracted labour in line with demand and ensure resource alignment to programme.
  • Implementing systems for forecasting workload, streamlining department operations, and establishing a reporting cadence using relevant KPIs.
  • Leading staff recruitment and retention, sourcing labourers, skilled operatives, material planners, and supervisors.
  • Establishing reporting and communication of operational performance and capacity to help inform expansion, investment, and future work-winning decisions.

Ideally, candidates will have previous experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar leadership role, with proven mechanical, electrical, BMS, and construction experience within modular solutions or the commercial MEP sector.
