Our client is an excellent employer in the NW area, offering a state-of-the-art working environment. They are looking to build maintenance capacity and are therefore looking for 24/7 Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians to join their existing team. Very low turnover in the Engineering Team and hence this would probably be the last appointment for a long time.

The Role: Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance of a wide range of plant facilities and high speed processing, handling and packaging equipment, including compressed air, steam, refrigeration systems and effluent plant. This is a 24/7 maintenance role, and will therefore require commitment to both day and night shifts (7-7). The basic salary works out between £49,000-£50,000, with any overtime paid at time and a half.

The Person: Will be time-served and will hold a relevant electrical/mechanical engineering qualification, ideally HNC/D qualified. Will have over 3 years experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in a high speed production environment, preferably with a good electrical aptitude. Will have over 3 years PPM experience and worked in a highly automated plant. Be proficient in mechanical & electrical systems including pneumatics, welding, hydraulics, stripping and rebuilding machines; electrical fault-finding, repairs and PLC knowledge. Candidates should be flexible, team-workers who enjoy working in a fast moving, reactive maintenance environment.

Benefits: The role offers opportunities for ongoing investment in new plant and equipment, meaning that your engineering skills will be updated and developed in line with technological advancements. Proper PPMs are in place and there is a very structured and well-organised Engineering function where maintenance is highly valued. Opportunities for world class training in controls and automation are available: Current Maintenance Engineers undergo PLC training in England (Level 1-3), plus a range of other skills training offered as well as higher education courses where applicable.
