TechMet are representing a Northern Ireland-based precision engineering and manufacturing company specialising in aerospace components. The business focuses on CNC machining, advanced manufacturing processes, and tooling solutions for high-precision industries. We are seeking a Quality Engineer for a full-time aerospace manufacturing role. The position focuses on ensuring aero structures and metallic components meet strict quality and compliance standards, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support consistent output and continuous improvement.

Full-time | Permanent

Based: Craigavon

Salary: £40,000 (depending on experience)

Working Hours (choice of shift): Mon-Thurs 07:00-16:00, Fri 07:00-12:00 or Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:15, Fri 08:00-12:00

Responsibilities and duties

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Inspection and Testing: Oversee and conduct inspections and testing of aerospace components, including aero-engine casings, nacelle beams, and engine mounts.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and manage non-conformances, working closely with production teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department, focusing on enhancing product quality, process efficiency, and reducing waste.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including inspection reports, quality records, and audit findings.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as a point of contact for customer quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processes and products comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100 and other applicable certifications.

Skills and experience

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace manufacturing industry, with a focus on aero structures and metallic components.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, inspection / SPC techniques, and industry standards, including AS9100.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and liaise with customers.

Location: Must be based in or willing to commute to Craigavon, Northern Ireland onsite each day.
